The Arts League of Michigan and Cranbrook Museum of Art have partnered with WVMV Smooth Jazz V98.7 FM to present “American Summer: Music on the Green” , a summer music series to be performed at both Cranbrook Arts Museum and Campus Martius Park in downtown Detroit.

Linda Boston presents “Permission”, designed to tell the truth about love, life, spirit and wealth, through music, narrative and shared experiences.

Women In Jazz. A concert of Detroit’s finest jazz vocalists featuring Ursula Walker, Shahida Nurullah and Naima Shamborguer accompanied by the Buddy Budson Trio.

Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings. A brass quintet will perform music from four centuries, ranging from Gabriel Canzoni to Joplin Rags.

Un Voyage dan les Reves: A Journey Through A Dream (WORLD PREMIER)
A musical representation of the various realities we experience while asleep, bringing to life the alternate world and possibilities that comprise a dream. Composed by trumpeter Kris Johnson, and performed by jazz and string quartets.


Please JOIN US! this ‘American Summer’ and enjoy some of Detroit’s finest performing artists, vocalists and musicians every Thursday, during the month of July at 7:00 PM on the South Lawn of Cranbrook Art Museum and every Friday at Campus Martius, downtown Detroit at 11:30 AM.


While you are at Cranbrook, picnic beside the Triton Pools, tour the Art Museum or enjoy free docent led tours of Saarinen House and American House 08.
