Young Artists Training Program
2008 5 Weeks beginning June 16, 2008 Wayne County Community College (Lower Commons) 8551 Greenfield, Detroit, MI 48228 Northwest Campus 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. For 4 Weeks, (June 16 - July 11) Students receive individualized instructions in groups of 5-6 from a curriculum focusing on Visual Arts and Photography.
Writing Artist's Statements Perfecting their art skills Peer panel of Judges Business Skills Presentations Framing Tagging
The artists mentors are masters and professionals in their chosen disciplines
who bring years of professional activities including teaching and art work production to the program.
The experience challenges the students step-by-step in learning how professional artists create and
prepare visual arts for exhibition.
The 5th Week, (July 14 - 19)
Students will use the last week to prepare, exhibit and sell their art work at the
internationally known:
Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair
The Artists, staff and students will routinely work the tent through out the day from 9am - 9pm.
Transportation will be provided from Wayne County Community College (northwest campus) to the Ann Arbor
Summer Art Fair and back to the WCCCD campus.
