The Arts League of Michigan (ALM) presents the ART MART at our new home, The Virgil H. Carr Cultural Arts
Center, 311 E. Grand River. The building will be transformed into a ‘Holiday
Shopping Fantasy’ featuring only original, hand-made works of art from artists
like you.
NOTE: Neither kits, prefabricated items, manufactured goods, nor nudity will be
accepted for ART MART.
We invite you to display and sell your creations at the Art Mart by providing
works in the following categories.
- Visual Arts
- Soft and hard sculptures
- Written works
- All crafts…woodworking, jewelry, ceramics, sewing, knitting…etc
- Holiday décor/items
ENTRY/JURY PROCESS:
We prefer to receive images of your works in JPEG but we can also accept Windows
files on a CD or emailed to
faye@artsleague.com. The total size of all email
attachments must be less than 5 MB. Mail or deliver books. Non ALM members must
*send a non-refundable, $25 Jury fee, by check or money order made out to the
Arts League of Michigan (click here
for a printable entry form), or call 313-965-8430 to use your credit card. No fee
for ALM members.
The Jury process is anonymous and can involve ALM staff, artists, board
representatives, educators, and gallery professionals. Images of art items will
only be compared with those items created in the same medium.
DISPLAYS:
We have a small number of display grids so please plan to use your own display
materials. Setting up grids, hanging and
displaying your items will be your responsibility. Your space will be assigned
after the Jury process. At that time, we can provide a table for you.
COMMISSION/SALES:
Vendor/artists will receive 60% and The Arts League 40% of the established
selling price for all sold items. Each of your items must be labeled identifying
the vendor/artist and the price. You must make a list of all items to be sold,
post it in your area, and provide a copy to Faye Carrothers. Please price your
pieces affordably- $500 or less. All of your work must fit into your 8’ x 8’
space. On November 23, selected items can be placed in ALM’s Arts In Harmonie
store on consignment. Unsold items must be picked up by 4:30 p.m. Monday,
December 21.
TIMELINE:
October 5 -October 28 - Submit your entry form and images. You will receive a
confirmation number.
November 3 – 6: You will be notified of the Jury selections and receive
unloading information.
November 19: Set up your assigned space between 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Post your
items/prices list and give a copy to Faye Carrothers.
November 20, 21, 22: The artists/vendors or designees, must be present in the
booth Friday/4-8 p.m.; Saturday/noon-9 p.m.; and Sunday/2-6 p.m.
November 23: Artists/vendors and ALM will select items to be sold in the ALM’s
Arts in Harmonie Store. All other art is to be removed by the artist/vendor.
December 21: Unsold pieces in the Arts In Harmonie Store must be picked up by
the artists/vendors or designee by 4:30 p.m.
