While the exhibition is on display, the artists invite you to a panel discussion, from 2 to 4 p.m., on Saturday, June 12th, to learn about their art and what influences their creativity. Then on Saturday, July 26th, the artists will work with students to share their knowledge about technique and improving skills. All of the activities are free.

Rock My Soul: The Black Legacy of Rock and Roll

The remaining pieces of the “Rock My Soul: The Black Legacy of Rock and Roll” collection are viewable on the website and will remain posted throughout the auction.

The 21-piece collection was created in collaboration with The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and was made possible by a grant from the Ford Motor Company. It traveled through Canada and the U.S. for six years. The original collection represents the impressions of ten black, Michigan artists who were given the task of interpreting nine genres of music ranging from West African and slave songs to Swing and Hip Hop.
