News Release: Arts League of Michigan awarded grant from the Knight Foundation

The Arts League of Michigan has been awarded a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, for the planning of the Design Detroit Initiative. Design Detroit is a plan to attract and retain design and creative professionals to the City of Detroit.

The Design Detroit Initiative fits very well with the economic development and community transformation strategies of the City of Detroit, Detroit Renaissance, and Detroit Economic Growth Corporation. All of these entities will become involved with Design Detroit during the planning process.
